Many people thinking about relocating to the Raleigh Durham Chapel Hill North Carolina area from out of state don’t initially realize that UNC, DUKE and NC STATE Universities -about 20 minutes apart- create a sports and university-laden environment. As a side tid-bit of info: our area boasts one of the nations highest per capita of higher degrees ( Post-Doc’s etc ). Its truly an exciting place to live- both mentally and physically!
We have great museums like Durham’s Museum of Life and Science, Duke University’s Nasher Museum,
Raleigh’s Exploris and North Carolina Museum of Art ( which currenlty features a Monet exhibit) and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Morehead Planetarium. All regularly offer family oriented programs.
Fantastic sports at every level !( Our children can play everything from Rainbow Soccer beginning at age three, to varsity bball in middle school to college level sports achieving national recognition). We also have professional teams for the most dedicated sports fans: The Carolina Panthers Football Teams and Charlotte Bobcats Basketball Team call our “queen city” of Charlotte North Carolina home! I am TRULY proud that the 2006 Stanley Cup Champions Carolina Hurricanes Hockey Team ( Brindy Brindy ) are based in Raleigh North Carolina’s RBC Center ( another great concert and sports venue )!
We have wonderful industry opportunities and many international companies call our area-The Research Triangle Park ( or RTP ) home! There is GREAT history and a wonderful variety of styles behind each of our cities and towns so you are sure to find a great fit when you are ready to call North Carolina Home!
