July 4th fireworks celebrations in Chapel Hill Carrboro and Durham
June 28th, 2007
There are plenty of fun July 4th fireworks celebrations in Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Durham this year. In Chapel Hill, at UNC’s Kenan Stadium, the fireworks display starts at 9:30 pm. Plan to stay a while for the live music. It’s great! The Horace Williams House in Chapel Hill, has an old fashioned celebration- patriotic music, flags, bubbles and lemonade. Bring your own blanket and lemonade.
In Durham, fireworks begin after 9pm at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Admission is free. This year there is no game beforehand so plan accordingly.
Here are some ideas for other ways to celebrate July 4th:
Durham County has the Festival for the Eno . This is a weekend event with local crafts, yummy foods and entertainment for all ages! The city of Durham also hosts it’s annual Independence Day parade in downtown Durham. Check it out!
At Carrboro Town Hall and Weaver Street Market, there will be kids entertainment with clowns, puppets, face painting and more. There is also a 4 mile charity race through town in addition to activities for kids.
July 4th 2007 looks to be a fun filled day and night with activities and fireworks displays for the whole family all throughout the Triangle area.
Let us know what you did that was fun so we can post it!
